ЦЕНТАР У ПОСЕТИ ИСТОРИЈСКОМ СЕДИШТУ РГД У САНКТ-ПЕТЕРБУРГУ

Дана 10. октобра 2024. године др. Душан Бајатовић је предводио делегацију Центра РГД у Србији у посети Руском географском друштву - историјском седишту у Санкт-Петербургу. Током обиласка, посебна пажња је посвећена Библиотеци РГД - највећем  фонду географских књига, карата и докумената на свету. Пре свега, са архивом рукописа наших сународника из XVIII и XIX века који живе на територији садашњих народних република Луганск и Доњецк. Уверили смо се да Руси чувају и афирмишу своје али и Српско културно наслеђе, нарочито оно из Новорусије.

ЦЕНТАР СУОРГАНИЗАТОР XV НАУЧНЕ КОНФЕРЕНЦИЈЕ АСОЦИЈАЦИЈЕ РУСКИХ ЕКОНОМСКИХ ГЕОГРАФА

Од 29. септембра до 8. октобра 2024. Центар Руског географског друштва у Србији учествује као  суорганизатор традиционалне међународне научне конференције Асоцијације руских економских географа (Ассоциация российских географов-обществоведов - АРГО). Конференција је одржана у Краснодару (Кубански државни универзитет) и Мајкопу (Адигејски државни универзитет). Ово је трећа велика вишедневна активност нашег Центра у Краснодарском крају током 2024. и наставак успешне сарадње са руским партнерима.

COOPERATION WITH THE RUSSIAN STATE UNIVERSITY FOR THE HUMANITIES

On September 17, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 4:30 PM, a series of lectures and working meetings took place at the Faculty of Geography in Belgrade (Studentski trg 3/3) with guests from the Russian Federation (Russian State University for the Humanities [www.rsuh.ru] and the Smart Civilization organization [smart-civilization-conf.ru]). The goal was to connect and expand the network among experts, scientists, universities, institutes, innovative companies, NGOs, and non-profit organizations. Materials were also prepared for a documentary film about humanitarian activities of associations and organizations in Serbia (http://knowledgehub.ru/mediaplatforma).

To commemorate Russia's entry into World War I in defense of the Kingdom of Serbia, the Russian Geographical Society Center in Serbia actively participated in organizing a series of commemorative events. These events took place from August 1 to 3, 2024, at various locations (memorials and landmarks), including: Belgrade – New Cemetery (Monument "Russian Glory"), Vranje (Šarplanina Cemetery, Korbevats, and Besna Kobila), Štrpce, Prizren (Theological Seminary, Our Lady of Ljeviš, Monastery of St. Archangels), Zrenjanin, and Vršac. The aim was to remind people of the shared destiny of the two nations and the sacrifices made by the soldiers and civilians of the Russian Empire during the Great War and the Civil War, when many found refuge in Serbia.

From July 10 to 13, 2024, a pilgrimage was organized to the Holy Serbian Imperial Monastery of Hilandar on Mount Athos. The visit coincided with the festive vigil and celebration of the Feast of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul – Petrovdan. The experience of faith, spirituality, tradition, warmth, hospitality, and the meeting with Prince Philip Karađorđević provided new opportunities for collaboration with the Russian Geographical Society Center.

RUSSIA AT THE EUROPEAN GEOGRAPHY OLYMPIAD

From June 30 to July 3, 2024, Serbia hosted the 10th European Geography Olympiad. Delegations from 12 countries, including 140 participants, along with a significant number of organizers and volunteers, took part. The most notable part of the program was held in the Kopaonik mountain range (Municipalities of Brus and Raška). The Russian Federation’s team was one of the largest and most successful in the competition.

THE CENTER AT THE GEOGRAPHY FACULTY ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

On June 21, 2024, the Faculty of Geography in Belgrade celebrated its anniversary. On this occasion, awards were presented to Kuban State University from Krasnodar (Certificate of Honor) and Dr. Tamara Vatolina Valentinovna, Smolensk State University (Letter of Appreciation). The strong and diverse collaboration with Kuban State University dates back to 2019. Several joint summer camps, international scientific conferences, photography exhibitions, and other events have been organized. On April 25, 2024, a tree plantation named the "Avenue of Russian-Serbian Friendship" (comprising 10 oaks) was established on the university grounds. In a video message, Mikhail Astapov Borisovich, Rector of Kuban State University, expressed gratitude on behalf of the awardees.

The festival was held from May 28 to June 2, 2024, organized by the National Museum of Serbia in Belgrade, in partnership with institutions from Serbia and abroad. A total of 25 films from eight countries were screened – Russia (1), Japan (1), Switzerland (1), Italy (5), Spain (5), Greece (2), Iran (1), and Serbia (9). The Center participated with the film "My Personal Dragon," directed by Milla Kudrashova (May 30). This was the sixth time since 2017 that the Center participated, contributing the most films from the Russian Geographical Society’s production.

THE CENTER AT THE COMMEMORATION OF RUSSIAN VOLUNTEERS’ DAY IN VIŠEGRAD

On April 12, 2024, the Russian Geographical Society Center in Serbia actively participated in the commemoration of Russian Volunteers’ Day in Višegrad. An exhibition of photographs by the Russian Geographical Society titled "The Most Beautiful Country" was held at the City Gallery of Višegrad on April 11 and 12. The exhibition was organized by the Russian Geographical Society Center in Serbia, the City Gallery of Višegrad, and the Serbian-Russian Community Association "Zavet."

CENTER AT THE WORLD FESTIVAL OF YOUTH IN SOCHI

From March 1 to 7, 2024, in Sochi (Adler - Sirius), more than 20,000 young representatives from over 300 ethnic communities gathered. More than half of them came from abroad (180 countries). Serbia, with over 200 participants, had one of the larger delegations. The Center had an active participation throughout the duration of the festival. At the panel discussion (Geo-contacts: how geography united 129 countries of the world), the work and most important results of the RGS Center in Serbia were presented. The festival was ceremonially opened and closed by Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, President of Russia.

BOOK PROMOTION "ST. GEORGE ISLAND OF HORRORS"

The promotion of the book St. George Island of Horrors by Branko M. Slijepčević was held on March 1, 2024, starting at 6 PM in the premises of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Belgrade. The promotion was organized by the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia and the "Jovan Dučić" Library from Sečanj. The program was complemented by an appropriate cultural and artistic program.

BOOK PROMOTION "RUSSIANS, KOSMET AND TIME"

The promotion of the book Russians, Kosmet and Time by Radmila Todić-Vulićević published by the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia was held in several locations: Niš (Prizren Seminary, February 15, 2024), Kosovo Mitrovica, and Gračanica. They were always accompanied by a numerous audience and artists with an appropriate cultural and artistic program. Each promotion was personally attended by the author, with the support of the publisher, reviewers, the Circle of Serbian Sisters, and other collaborators.

BOOK PROMOTION "RUSSIANS, KOSMET AND TIME" (RUSSIAN HOUSE)

On February 9, 2024, at 5 PM, the first promotion of the book Russians, Kosmet and Time by the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia was held. It took place before a numerous audience in the premises of the Russian House in Belgrade. The book promotion, attended by the author Radmila Todić-Vulićević, reviewers, representatives of the publisher, and the Russian House, was enhanced by an appropriate cultural and artistic program.

CHILDREN OF DONBAS VISITING THE CENTER OF THE RUSSIAN GEOGRAPHICAL SOCIETY IN SERBIA

On November 7 and 9, 2023, children from the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) and other entities of the Russian Federation, along with their parents and escorts, got acquainted with some of the activities of the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia. Despite their packed schedule of events during their multi-day visit to Serbia, they collaborated with representatives of the Center twice. On this occasion, they were presented with symbolic gifts with the insignia of the RGS Center in Serbia, with the hope that they would soon be active participants in some of our programs.

    

SOLEMN ACADEMY ON THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE WORK OF THE CENTER OF THE RUSSIAN GEOGRAPHICAL SOCIETY IN SERBIA

On October 19, 2023, in the Great Hall of the Russian House in Belgrade, a Solemn Academy celebrated both the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia's milestone and the 79th anniversary of Belgrade's liberation from fascism in World War II. Attendees included collaborators, friends, and admirers of the Center's work from Belgrade, Vrbas, Novi Sad, Bečej, Sečanj, Niš, Brus, Čačak, Banja Luka, and other cities and places in Serbia and the surrounding area. The ceremony program featured the choir and orchestra of the Academic Cultural and Artistic Society University of Belgrade "Španac" and the instrumental duo of Sonja Kalajić and Dražen Tikveša.

From September 7-21, 2023, representatives of the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia, participated, in collaboration with the Association of Economic Geographers of Russia, in scientific conferences in Russia (Ulan-Ude) and Mongolia (Ulan Bator). They strengthened old and established many new contacts important for affirming the current and plans for the future work of the Center. Some concrete international activities of the Center for the period from 2024 to 2027 were agreed upon..

"TRANSBOUNDARY EROSION AND WATERSHED POLLUTION"

The international conference was held from July 19 to 23 in Belgrade. The first day of work (July 20) was held in the building of the Rectorate of the University of Belgrade, and the second (July 21) in the Russian Center for Science and Culture (Russian House) in Belgrade. During July 22 and 23, a professional excursion tour of Serbia was organized for the conference participants. The conference was organized by the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia with traditional and new partners from the Russian Federation, Serbia, and other countries. Cooperation was also established with international organizations: World Association for Soil and Water Conservation (WASWAC), International Commission for Continental Erosion (ICCE), and others.

CENTER ON PALEONTOLOGICAL RESEARCH: "CRETACEOUS PARK IN THE SOUTHERN URALS"

From July 10 to 20, 2023, in the Orenburg region (Orsk), our representatives (Center of the RGS in Serbia) participated in the research of marine and terrestrial fauna from the Cretaceous period. Excavations and other research were conducted with hosts and international participants from Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, Lebanon, Moldova, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. This was the second shift in this research year.

SOLEMN CHARITY CONCERT

On June 16, 2023, starting at 7:00 PM, a Solemn Charity Concert "To Russia and Belarus with Love" was held. The concert, along with the accompanying program, took place in the premises of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Belgrade. The concert organizers were: the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia, Serbian-Russian and Serbian-Russian-Belarusian associations from Serbia, the Republic of Srpska (BiH), and Montenegro. We specifically directed the voluntarily collected contributions to support the children of Donbas.

The Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia, together with partners, carried out a series of activities on the occasion of the international event "Night of Geography" (June 2-4, 2023). On May 31, together with the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Belgrade, a presentation of the project "Memory of Antarctica" and the screening of the documentary film "Bouromsky Island" with Serbian subtitles were organized. The guest of the evening was Olga V. Stefanova, a participant in seven expeditions to Antarctica, and the leader of the project for the reconstruction of the cemetery of polar explorers, etc.

On June 2, 2023, the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia participated in two online conferences in Moscow. The first was dedicated to the Nazi policy of extermination of peoples during World War II, chaired by Elena Guskova, with representatives of the Center being the only participants from Serbia. The second meeting was dedicated to the international event "Night of Geography" and was held at the library of the Center for Slavic Cultures. Our work's results, current activities, and plans for the near and distant future were presented. The audience actively engaged with our Balkan initiatives, expressing their interest through insightful comments and inquiries, as documented in our video materials.
CENTER AT THE 23RD INTERNATIONAL ARCHAEOLOGICAL FILM FESTIVAL IN BELGRADE

Organized from May 22 to 27, 2023, by the National Museum of Serbia in Belgrade and partnering institutions from the country and abroad. The festival showcased 22 films from six countries: Serbia (9), Italy (4), Spain (3), Russia (2), Greece (2), and Iran (2). The Center participated with the following films: "Chesma Flame. Greek Gambit: A Chronicle of an Expedition" and "Following the Path of Explorers of Unknown Lands." Since 2017, the Center has participated in this festival with a total of 20 films, 19 of which are from the production of the Russian Geographical Society.

On May 19, 2023, in St. Petersburg, an International Conference commemorating 230 years since the birth of Peter Ivanovich Keppen was held. The organizer was the Library of the Russian Academy of Sciences - Department of Funds and Services. The Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia actively participated in the preparation and realization of the same. A contribution on the topic "Basic Principles and Directions of Geography Popularization on the Example of the Center RGS Project in Serbia" was presented.

CELEBRATING VICTORY DAY

On May 9, 2023, representatives and collaborators of the Center RGS in Serbia participated in several events organized on the occasion of Victory Day. In cooperation with the society of Serbian-Russian-Belarusian friendship - Čačak, the City Committee of SUBNOR of Čačak, the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Serbia, and other partners and participants, five memorials in the territory of the City of Čačak were visited. Four memorials are directly dedicated to Red Army soldiers who perished during the liberation of this area in World War II.

PARTICIPATION AT THE XI INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC AND PROFESSIONAL CONFERENCE OF THE KUBAN STATE UNIVERSITY

From April 12 to 16, 2023, the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia, as a co-organizer, participated in the XI International Conference on the topic "Tourist-Recreational Complex in the System of Regional Development." The conference was held in the tourist center Nebug (Tuapse district - Krasnodar region) on the Black Sea coast. This is the third consecutive participation of the Center. On this occasion, it presented an oral and published report on the work for the period from 2015 to 2022.

PUBLIC LECTURE

Held on March 8 (Wednesday), 2023, at the University of Belgrade - Faculty of Geography (Zemun, Vojvođanska Street) from 11:00 to 12:20 hours. The lecturer was Ivana Šeglova on the topic "St. Petersburg: The Capital of the Empire and City of Architecture". The guest lecturer was a graduated historian (National University of Kyiv - Taras Shevchenko), Master of Art History (Saint Petersburg State University), and Ph.D. candidate in Art History (Saint Petersburg State University). The area of academic and practical interest of the lecturer is Serbian medieval church architecture. During the discussion, attendees could provide feedback on the lecture and ask questions. The lecture was organized in cooperation with the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia and the Faculty of Geography in Belgrade. It was held in Serbian.

MASLENITSA IN ŠID

On February 26, 2023, in Šid, the spiritual holiday Maslenitsa (White Carnival) was celebrated. A rich cultural and artistic program was organized, which included a photo exhibition of the RGS "The Most Beautiful Country". The program organizers were the Association of Serbian-Russian Friendship "Šid" and the Church community of the church of St. Prince Lazar. The holiday was celebrated in the courtyard and parish home of the same church.

It was held on December 14, 2022 at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Geography (Vojvođanska 1, Zemun) in the period from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The lecture was held by geographer, Dr. Mikhail Mikhailovich Lobanov, senior research associate and deputy Director of the Institute of Economy of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAN) and Docent of the Moscow Faculty of Economics - Lomonosov Moscow State University (MDU). Topic of the lecture: “Contemporary problems and challenges for the industrial development of the countries of Central-Eastern and South-Eastern Europe”. During the discussion, the present crowd could give their opinion of the lecture and ask questions. The lecture was held through cooperation of the Russian Geographical Society Centre in Serbia and the Faculty of Geography in Belgrade.

PROMOTION OF INTERNATIONAL EXPEDITION “KAMCHATKA: THE NORTH-WESTERN RING OF FIRE”

The promotion was held on November 02, 2022 at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Geography (Vojvođanska 1, Zemun) in the period from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Participants in the expedition talked before the students and professors of the Faculty of Geography and used personal experiences and a presentation (photo and video materials from the field) to talk about life and work on the expedition and in general about time spent in the far east of the Russian Federation. During the discussion, the present crowd could ask questions and learn details in the field of scientific research and everyday life. The promotion was held through cooperation of the Russian Geographical Society Centre in Serbia and the Faculty of Geography in Belgrade.

BELGRADE LIBERATION DAY CELEBRATION

The Center marked the 78th anniversary of the liberation of Belgrade from the occupiers in World War II with a series of multi-day activities. The Centre carried out the same with traditional partners in a large number of locations in the city and its surroundings.
On October 20, the Central Event was held in the Jewish Cultural Center "Oneg Shabbat" in Belgrade with a musical time machine from the Patriotic Wars "Remembrance of Days of Glory".
On October 21, they visited several memorials dedicated to the period of the Belgrade offensive. The Center has traditionally taken care of basic maintenance and decoration of some of these monuments.

THE CENTRE IN VRBAS

On October 13, 2022, the Russian Geographical Society Centre in Serbia continued their successful cooperation with the Serbian-Russian Friendship Association “Rod” from Vrbas and the Vrbas Church Municipality. The Centre promoted the work of the Russian Geographical Society and their activities in Serbia and the region. In cooperation with NIS Company, Russian language course participants were given special gifts (Russian language textbook, promotional booklets and other publications of the Center).

  

      SOLEMN CEREMONY ON THE OCCASION OF THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE RUSSIAN GEOGRAPHICAL SOCIETY CENTER IN SERBIA

On October 06, 2022, Solemn Academy was held at the Grand Hall of the Russian House in Belgrade on the occasion of the anniversary of work of the Russian Geographical Society Centre in Serbia and the birthday of the President of the Council, patron of the Russian Geographical Society and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. On behalf of the Center and those present, wishes for good health and success in personal and professional engagement were sent to the celebrator. The program was completed with the performance of the Academic Artistic Associations of the University of Belgrade "Španac" and artist Ljuba Manasijević.

CENTRE TAKING PART IN THE EXPEDITION “KAMCHATKA: THE NORTH-WESTERN RING OF FIRE”

From August 15 to September 5, 2022, four representatives of the Russian Geographical Society Centre in Serbia took part in an international expedition in the Russian Federation - "Kamchatka: the North-Western Ring of Fire". Our participants (three from Serbia and one from the Republic of Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina) are part of a wider research team together with representatives from the Commonwealth of Independent States, China and Egypt. The expedition is being held as part of the "New Generation" program. Also, the expedition participants are to attend the All-Russian Youth Environmental forum "Ekosistem" and they will also visit the surroundings of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky: Vilyuchinsky waterfall, the Valley of Geysers, Gorelaya Sopka and others.

HONORARY GUEST OF THE FESTIVAL IS THE RUSSIAN GEOGRAPHICAL SOCIETY CENTRE IN SERBIA

From August 18 to 28, 2022, the Fifth RGD Festival was held in Moscow, in Zaryadye Park. The Russian Geographical Society Centre in Serbia is participating as a guest of honor with a large number of its representatives. The President of the Council of the Center had the opportunity to greet the crowd and practically open this multiple day event.

The program was realised on July 13, 2022, on the occasion of marking the uprising against fascism in Montenegro. The organisers were the Novi Beograd Union of Veterans of the National Liberation Wars and the Centre of Russian Geographical Society in Serbia. A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the organisers of this program, after years of successful cooperation on similar activities.

CENTRE AS A CO-ORGANISER OF THE SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE IN TREBINJE (Republic of Srpska – Bosnia and Herzegovina)

From May 23 to May 26, 2022, the Centre was a co-organiser of the international scientific conference on the subject Tourism in a contemporary European and Euro-Asian space – current state, problems, challenges, perspectives. The organisers of the conference were the Tourism and Hotel Management College from Trebinje, Centre of Russian Geographical Society in Serbia and the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Geography. The conference was held at the Leotar Hotel and Tourism and Hotel Management College in Trebinje (Republic of Srpska – Bosnia and Herzegovina).

CENTRE AT THE 22ND INTERNATIONAL ARCHAEOLOGY FILM FESTIVAL IN BELGRADE

The festival took place from May 20 to 26, 2022, and was organised by the Serbian National Museum and partner institutions from Serbia, Spain, Russia, Italy, Greece, Croatia, Germany, Belgium and Iran. The Centre has been traditionally participating with the films from Russian Geographic Society’s production. This year the following films were screened – Historical landscape of the Lake Galichskoye surroundings (directed by Anastasia Fisher) and Vëži Island -The Slav outpost in Kostroma land (directed by Denis Moshenko and Anastasia Fisher). This year at the festival, for the first time, appeared the film whose filming in Serbia was helped by the Centre: Nikolay Krasnov – do not forsake your duty and oath (directed by Aleksey Burykin and Elena Gromova).

PUBLISHING ACTIVITY AND BOOK PROMOTION 

During 2022, the Centre has continued the successful publishing activity. A book came out in April with the title THE LAST WITNESS: events from Yekaterinburg and Alapaevsk in the memoires of Helen of Serbia. Its authors are the renowned researchers from the Russian Federation: Galina Igorevna Shevcova, Nikolai Borisovich Neujmin and Olga Nikolaevna Potjomkina. During May, this work was presented to the media and audience at the promotions in: Topola – May 18, 2022 at 06:00 PM, Belgrade – May 19, 2022 at 06:00 PM and 07:00 PM and Pančevo– May 20, 2022 at 07:00 PM.

CENTRE’S VISIT TO KIKINDA – PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION AND A MINI FESTIVAL OF DOCUMENTARY FILM

From May 13 to May 25, 2022, a photography exhibition of the Russian Geographic Society – The most beautiful country, was held at the gallery of Cultural Centre in Kikinda. It was organised by the Centre of Russian Geographical Society in Serbia, Society of Serbian-Russian Friendship and the Cultural Centre in Kikinda, on the occasion of marking the day of victory over fascism. The exhibition was opened on May 13 at 05:00 PM. It was supported by the mini festival of documentary film: Peninsula with treasure (May 13), The Ipatiev Monastery and Pskov Kremlin and Lavra (May 16), Do not forsake your duty and oath and Take a look over the horizon - Expedition to Siberia (May 17).

CENTRE AS A CO-ORGANISER OF THE SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE IN SUKHUMI (ABKHAZIA)

Between April 11 and 15, 2022, the 10th anniversary edition of the International Scientific-Practical Conference was held in Sukhumi (Republic of Abkhazia) on the subject Tourist-Recreational Complex in the Regional Development System. The conference organisers were the Cuban State University and the Abkhazian State University. For the second time the Centre appeared as a co-organiser of these scientific conferences. The conference gathered the participants from 16 subjects of Russian Federation.

COOPERATION WITH THE SERBIAN DIRECTORATE FOR INLAND WATERWAYS

On April 11 and April 14, 2022, two half-day educational programs were organised for the associates and friends of the Centre of Russian Geographical Society in Serbia, in cooperation with the Serbian Directorate for Inland Waterways. A successfully conducted activities have shown a great potential for the future scientific and professional cooperation, for the mutual benefit of the parties. Especially in the areas of ecology, waterways traffic development, hydrographic and hydro-construction activities, and navigation safety on the international rivers. This cooperation may potentially constitute a significant scientific support to the competent authorities and representatives of the Republic of Serbia and Russian Federation within the projects and activities of the Danube Commission, given that both countries are members thereof.

HUMANITARIAN AID FOR THE DONBAS CHILDREN

On March 25, 2022, the Centre of Russian Geographical Society in Serbia and the Society of Serbian-Russian Friendship Resurs (Resource) from Novi Sad have dispatched the humanitarian aid for the refugees, above all children, from Donetsk and Lugansk. Humanitarian aid campaign was carried out in cooperation with the Leningrad Region Administration. Symbolically, the aid was sent as a remembrance of March 24, the day when the NATO bombing of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia 23 years ago started.

NOVI SAD – DAYS OF RUSSIAN CULTURE IN SERBIA

From March 3 to March 10, 2022, Days of Russian Culture in Serbia were marked in Novi Sad in a working and promotional atmosphere. According to the program, the Centre of Russian Geographical Society in Serbia participated on March 7 at the round table: Intercultural dialogue – Russian Heritage in Serbian and European Culture. Activities of the Centre were presented, as well as the results on the mapping, research and preservation of the Russian cultural heritage in Serbia.

PROMOTION OF RUSSIAN LANGUAGE TEXTBOOK

On November 18, 2021, at the Faculty of Philology (Russian Center), promotion of the Russian language textbook for adults " Ни пуха ни пера " was held. The promotion was attended by representatives of the University of Belgrade - Faculty of Philology (managers and textbook authors), the Oil Industry of Serbia, and the Center of RGS in Serbia. On this occasion, free copies of textbooks were distributed to the present students and other guests.

    


CEREMONIAL ACADEMY ON THE OCCASION OF THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE CENTER OF THE RUSSIAN GEOGRAPHICAL SOCIETY IN SERBIA

On October 7, 2021, in the Great Hall of the Russian House (Ruski Dom) in Belgrade, a ceremonial academy was held to mark the anniversary of the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia and the birthday of the President of the Council of Patrons of the Russian Geographical Society and President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. On behalf of the Center and those present, the celebrant was wished good health and success in personal and professional engagement. The Academy was also attended by participants in the International Scientific Conference "Theoretical and Practical Problems of Research of Spatial Processes: The Range of Views of Russian and Serbian Geographers". The program was completed by the performance of the ensemble AKUD of the University of Belgrade "Španac" and the artist Ljuba Manasijević.

THE CENTER – AN ORGANIZER OF THE INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC MEETING

In the period from October 3 to 8, 2021, an international scientific conference was held on the topic "Theoretical and Practical Problems of Research of Spatial Processes: The Range of Views of Russian and Serbian Geographers".  The conference was organized by the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia in cooperation with the Faculty of Geography in Belgrade. Twenty-five articles were presented, of which 10 by colleagues from the Russian Federation, 11 by teachers and associates of the Faculty of Geography, and 4 by colleagues from other educational and scientific institutions in Serbia. Hotel Junior, as many times before, provided all the amenities for a smooth operation and a pleasant atmosphere.

On October 2, 2021, an exhibition of photographs of the Russian Geographical Society "The Most Beautiful Country in the World" was opened in the Serbian Reading Room in Sombor (st. Čitaonička no. 2). THE CENTER AT THE ANNUAL MEETING OF THE SERBIAN GEOGRAPHICAL SOCIETY

On September 25, 2021, the traditional Annual Meeting of the Serbian Geographical Society was held. During the Geographical Seminar, the representative of the Center gave a lecture on "The Importance of Geographical Societies in the Affirmation of Geography - the Example of the Russian Geographical Society". On the occasion of this event, the Center held an exhibition of RGS photographs entitled "The Most Beautiful Country in the World" at the Faculty of Geography (Vojvođanska 1, Zemun), in the period from September 24 to 29.

AGREEMENT ON COOPERATION SIGNED BETWEEN THE CENTER OF THE RUSSIAN GEOGRAPHICAL SOCIETY IN SERBIA AND THE INSTITUTE FOR NATURE PROTECTION IN SERBIA

On August 2, 2021, an Agreement on Cooperation was signed between the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia and the Institute for Nature Protection of Serbia. It was signed at the bulding of the Institute for Nature Protection of Serbia (st. Dr.Ivana Ribara 91, New Belgrade), in the presence of participants of the Seventh International Ecological and Geographical Camp in Serbia and representatives of the Institute headed by Director Marina Šibalić. On this occasion, the participants of the Camp were informed by Verica Stojanović and other representatives of the Institute about the history of protection and the state of protected nature in Serbia.

SUMMER 2021 - INTERNATIONAL SPORTS AND TOURIST EVENT "INCREDIBLE 10110 KM THROUGH RUSSIA"
SERBIA - PREPARATORY PHASE

From Juny 16 to 26, 2021, the preparatory phase of the international manifestation "Incredible 10110 km through Russia" was held in Serbia. The project is dedicated to the anniversaries from 2020: 75 years of victory over fascism and 175 years of existence and successful work of the Russian Geographical Society. These preparations were followed by three phases in Russia: Crimea - 10 km of swimming / day (open sea), Sevastopol-Vladivostok - 10,000 km on motorcycles in 10 days and Primorsky Krai (Land of the Leopard) - 100 km / day of walking. During the preparatory phase in Serbia, a circular tourist tour through Serbia was opened from June 18 to 26. The tour was suggested and adapted for motorized tourists from the Russian Federation. On June 24, a swimming marathon lasting three hours was realized in Novi Sad, and during June 24 and 25, a walking marathon on Fruska gora (77 km / 18 hours) with visits to memorial sites from World War II.

VISIT OF SRHC IN NIS

On June 16 and 21, 2021, the delegation of the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia visited the Serbian-Russian Humanitarian Center in Nis. It was confirmed that the two organizations have a long and successful cooperation. They agreed to continue and intensify it as soon as the conditions of the pandemic allow it. Some concrete activities for 2021 have been agreed. The possibilities of signing a framework agreement on business and technical cooperation were discussed.

CENTER AT THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL FILM SCREENING IN BELGRADE

From May 12 to 19, 2021, the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia at the 21st International Archaeological Film Festival in Belgrade. The festival is traditionally organized by the National Museum of Serbia with partners and associates. The Russian Geographical Society is participating in this review for the third time, with films from its own production. This year with the films: Ipatiev Monastery (Sunday, May 16) directed by Daria Andriyanova and Pskov Kremlin (Monday, May 17) directed by Maria Samoilova.

PROMOTION OF THE CENTER IN MOSCOW

On May 17, 2021, the promotion of the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia was held in Moscow. The Center presented a part of its activities realized from 2015 to 2020. The promotion of the Center was held in the central building of the Russian Geographical Society in Moscow. The center especially presented a part of the results of research and publishing activities for 2020. On this occasion, six copies of the following editions were donated to the Russian Geographical Society: Russian Cultural Heritage in Serbia, in Russian and Serbian, a textbook of the Russian language „Ni puha ni pera“ and „The story of brotherly love between the two nations“ (bilingual edition). On this occasion, the Center was awarded for its contribution to the celebration of the 175th anniversary of the RGS.

    PROMOTION OF THE CENTER AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SMOLENSK

On May 11, 2021, the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia presented a part of its activities realized from 2015 to 2020 at the University of Smolensk. Representatives of the Centers were received by the Rector and other heads of the University and individual faculties. The role of the Center in intensifying the cooperation between the universities in the Russian Federation and Serbia, and in that context also the universities in Smolensk and Belgrade, was especially emphasized. At the purposefully organized gathering, the center presented a part of the results of rich research and publishing activities from 2020: the Russian edition of the book Russian Cultural Heritage in Serbia and the textbook of the Russian language for adults, "Ni puha ni pera". A part of these editions was distributed to the university library and visitors.

    
RUSSIAN LANGUAGE SCHOOL

During March and April of 2021, the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia completed the realization of the first intensive course (three times a week for two hours) of learning the Russian language. It was realized according to the textbook "Ni puha ni pera", which the Center published in cooperation with the company NIS a.d. The course was conducted as part of the preparations of the Center for the stay in the Smolensk Region (May 3-17). The participants of the course are: Durlevic U, Ivanovic N, Markovic M, Milincic M, Nikolic T, Petrovic D, Milincic U and Smiljanic D.
PARTICIPATION IN THE IX INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC-PROFESSIONAL CONFERENCE IN KRASNODAR

From April 21 to 24, 2021, the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia co-organized the IX International Conference in Krasnodar on the topic of Tourist-recreational complex in the system of regional development. The conference was held at the Cuban State University. The Center presented itself with a presentation on its work from 2015 to 2020 and especially scientific-professional and publishing activities during 2020.

On April 14, 2021, Leningrad State University A.S. Pushkin held a ceremony on the occasion of the 175th anniversary of the Russian Geographical Society. The Center of RGS in Serbia was officially included in the program of the meeting. It was presented by the presentation of the Center and the direct online participation of its representatives (V. Grbovic, J. Sopilnyak and M. Milincic).

On March 9, 2021, the promotion of the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia was held in the premises of the Russian House in Belgrade. In cooperation with the active Russian language professors, the editions of the Center published during 2020 were presented. Possibilities were discussed with the representatives of this professional association and future mutual cooperation was agreed.

DAYS OF "RUSSIAN CULTURE" IN SREMSKA MITROVICA (JANUARY 15-25, 2021)

The Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia is actively participating in the traditional manifestation of the Days of Russian Culture in Sremska Mitrovica this year as well. The program is organized by the Historical Archive "Srem" and the Regional Association of Serbian-Russian Friendship "Srem", with the support of the City of Sremska Mitrovica, the Russian House and the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia. The beginning of the program was marked by the opening of the photo exhibition "Russia is the most beautiful country". The program of the event is available via the Internet on the YouTube channel of the Historical Archive "Srem".

SIGNED AGREEMENT ON COOPERATION BETWEEN THE CENTER OF THE RUSSIAN GEOGRAPHICAL SOCIETY IN SERBIA AND THE UNIVERSITY OF EASTERN SARAJEVO

On November 30, 2020, in the building of the Rectorate of the University of East Sarajevo (Vuka Karadžića no. 30), an Agreement on Cooperation was signed between the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia and the University of East Sarajevo. During the working meeting with the rector prof. Dr. Milan Kulić and vice-rectors analyzed long-term (potential) and short-term opportunities for cooperation. It was agreed in principle to appear together for scientific and professional projects on courses in the Russian Federation.

EXPERT EXCURSION ON RUSSIAN CULTURAL HERITAGE IN SERBIA

On the occasion of the 175th year of existence and successful work of the Russian Geographical Society and the Day of the Russian Geographers, the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia is implementing a series of appropriate activities. On August 22 and 23, 2020, an expert excursion dedicated to the Russian cultural heritage in Serbia was organized for the associates. A large number of sites were visited, and the most important were: the mausoleum in Oplenac, the former first Serbian-Russian monastery of the Presentation of Mary (Miljkovo) and the fresco of St. Nicholas II in the monastery of Žiča.

     
ACTIVITIES OF THE CENTER ON THE OCCASION OF THE 175TH YEAR OF EXISTENCE AND SUCCESSFUL WORK OF THE RUSSIAN GEOGRAPHICAL SOCIETY AND THE DAY OF THE RUSSIAN GEOGRAPHERS

Part of the activities program

From 14 to 17 August 2020, in cooperation with the City Municipality of Grocka in Leštan, activities were carried out on the renovation of monuments from the Second World War and the arrangement of the surrounding area. The monument is dedicated to the fighters of the YA (11) and the Red Army (7), who died during the battles for the liberation of Belgrade, in October 1944. A ceremony on the occasion of this event was held on August 17 at 11 am.

On November 15, 2019, in the Great Hall of the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Belgrade, a Ceremonial Academy was held on the occasion of the anniversary of the work of the Russian Geographical Society Center in Serbia. Dušan Bajatović, President of the Center’s Council, Aleksandar Bocan-Kharchenko, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Serbia, and Miroljub Milinčić, Director of the Center, spoke to the public. The program was completed by the performance of folklore and the ensemble of the Academic Cultural Art Society of the University in Belgrade, "Španac",  and the artist Ljubo Manasijević.

CENTER OF THE RUSSIAN GEOGRAPHICAL SOCIETY AT THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE IMMORTAL REGIMENT

From September 24 to 27, 2019, the International Conference titled "Immortal Regiment" was held in Belgrade, for the first time outside the borders of the Russian Federation. The Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia actively participated in all phases of preparation and realization of this important international event. The event was attended by 80 delegates from 55 countries and a large number of participants from Serbia and the region. At the press conference, the president of the Council of the Russian Geographical Society Center in Serbia, Dušan Bajatovic, reminded that the Immortal Regiment gathers participants in the Second World War and their descendants in order not to forget the events during the anti-fascist struggle in which the Russian and Serbian people made the greatest sacrifices.

On September 15, 2019, an Agreement on Cooperation was signed in Krasnodar between the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia and the Cuban State University. On behalf of the University, the Agreement was signed by the Rector, Mihajlo Borisovic Astapov, and on behalf of the Center, Miroljub Milincic. The signing ceremony was attended by the first vice-rector Hagurov Temir Ajtečević, director of the Institute of Geography, Geology, Tourism and Services Belikov Mikhail Jurevich, professors, assistants and students.

From August 18 to 25, 2019, the traditional International Summer School of the Russian Geographical Society was held. The goal of the school is to popularize geography under the slogan "Geography for all". The Center for the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia contributed to the shooting of this film on the territory of Serbia.

On March 23, 2019, an agreement on financial assistance from Gazprom Neft for the interior decoration of the Temple of Saint Sava was signed in the premises of the Russian Center for Science and Culture. On March 23, 2019, an exhibition of photographs of the Russian Geographical Society from the traditional Photo Competition "The Most Beautiful Earth" was held. It was placed in the hall of the Great Chemical Amphitheater in Belgrade. The exhibition was realized in cooperation with the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia and the Serbian Geographical Society, on the occasion of the traditional event Geographical Seminar and the Annual Assembly of the SGD.

SIGNING OF THE AGREEMENT ON COOPERATION BETWEEN THE STATE UNIVERSITY OF ASTRAHAN AND THE CENTER OF THE RUSSIAN GEOGRAPHICAL SOCIETY IN SERBIA

On November 8, 2018, an Agreement on Cooperation was signed between the State University of Astrakhan and the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia. The initiator of this cooperation is the Faculty of Geology and Geography of the Academy of Dramatic Arts. The parties agreed to initiate joint projects in the scientific-research, practical and educational spheres. The main areas of the future partnership will be geoinformation technologies and remote sensing of the Earth, physical geography, recreational geography and tourism. We are convinced that this is only the beginning of cooperation and that it will expand to the level of our universities and faculties. We owe great gratitude to Viktor Zanozin, a participant in the third Serbian-Russian ecological-geographical camp of the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia, for initiating this cooperation. On this occasion, we convey his message - we believe that the new cooperation will bring theoretical and practical benefits not only for students and teachers of our universities, but also beyond. The activities we are planning will strengthen the partnership between the organizations and the friendly relations of the fraternal Slavic peoples. The document was signed by the acting rector of ADU, Dr. Konstantin Markelov, and the director of the Center, Dr. Miroljub Milinčić.

CEREMONIAL ACADEMY ON THE OCCASION OF THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE CENTER OF THE RUSSIAN GEOGRAPHICAL SOCIETY IN SERBIA

On October 16, 2018, in the Great Hall of the Russian House in Belgrade, a ceremonial academy was held on the occasion of the anniversary of the work of the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia. Greeting letters from Artyom Manukyan, Director of the Executive Directorate of the Russian Geographical Society, and Dusan Bajatovic, President of the Council of the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia, were read. The program was completed by the performance of folklore, choir and ensemble of AKUD University in Belgrade "Španac" and artist Ljubo Manasijević. An integral part of the program is the Exhibition of photographs of the Russian Geographical Society from the traditional photo competition "The Most Beautiful Country". The exhibition is set in the Hall of the Russian House and is available from October 14 to 18, 2018.

From August 19 to 26, 2018, the traditional International Summer School of the Russian Geographical Society was held in St. Petersburg. The goal of the school is to popularize geography under the slogan "Geography for all". A representative of the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia held a seminar on August 23, from 930 to 1120 hours. On June 7, 2018, the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia participated in the celebration of the Russia Day. DELEGATION OF RGS IN ALEKSANDROVAC

On August 4th 2017, the delegation of the Russian Geographical Society visited Aleksandrovac. There is traditionally good cooperation between the Development Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia and the economic and cultural organizations of the Municipality of Aleksandrovac. On this occasion, visits to the successful economy of the Vino Zupa collective and cultural institutions were realized - the Regional Museum and the Wine Museum. During 2016 students from the Russian Federation stayed on the territory of Aleksandrovac municipality on several occasions. On this occasion, the possibilities of continuing the existing and improving mutual cooperation were considered.

DELEGATION OF RGS IN THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT

On August 2th 2017, a delegation from the Russian Geographical Society held a meeting in the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Government of the Republic of Serbia. Minister Mladen Šarčević was informed about the work of the Development Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia and discussed possible forms of future cooperation, as well as potential joint projects. The Russian Geographical Society has indicated the possibility of greater participation of students from Serbia in research actions and camps in the Russian Federation.

GIFT OF VALUE AND RARITY GEOGRAPHIC LITERATURE TO THE DEVELOPMENT CENTER


Thanks to Dejan Spaić, the Development Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia received a unique copy of Johann Hübner's (1668-1731) book, German geographer and historian, pedagogue and genealogist, entitled "Short questions from old and new Geography "(German Kurtze Fragen aus der Neuer und Geography). This valuable work is probably the oldest textbook of geography from the period of early Enlightenment, and certainly with the greatest number of editions (36) and translation into almost all major European languages ​​of the 18th and 19th centuries. The book was regarded for a long time as one of the best and most authoritative textbooks of geography. The first issue in the German language was printed in Leipzig in 1693, and it was translated into the Russian language by the order of the emperor and great prince Peter I. The translation was made in 1711 and 1716, and the first Russian edition was published in April 1719 in Moscow. The copy currently in the possession of the Development Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia is handwritten with dimensions of 230 mm x 190 mm. The book is a featured monogram of the Romanov dynasty, and as a copywriter was signed by Hieromonk Nikodim. The work on this copy of the book was completed in 1774 during the reign of Catherine the Great.

GIFT OF CHURCH BOOKS FROM THE PERIOD OF RUSSIAN EMPIRE TO ROC IN BELGRADE

On December 24th 2016, the activity of collecting and donating valuable church books continued to Russian Orthodox Church in Belgrade. On this occasion, Dejan Spaić, in the presence of the representative of the Development Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia, presented to the Moscow Patriarchate and the Russian Orthodox Church in Belgrade worthy and old Russian Orthodox books, the two great Typikons, ie church constitution. Both are complete, individually 450 pages, with wooden covers and leather bindings. Book dimensions are 350 × 225 × 70 mm. One was printed in 1849 during the reign of Emperor Nicholas I Pavlovich, and the second in 1859 during the reign of his son, Alexander II. Books are printed in a combination of black and red - typical of church literature. They start with the text in the glory of God, the reigning Emperor and his nobility.

THE BEGINNING OF COLLECTING RUSSIAN CULTURAL HERITAGE IN THE WESTERN BALKANS

On December 7th 2016 a contact was established with the mediation of the Development Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia, and a meeting was held between Mr. Dejan Spaić and head of the Russian Orthodox Church in Belgrade, the protoiereus of Vitaly Tarasev. On this occasion, Dejan Spaić, in the presence of the Director of the Development Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia, presented to the Moscow Patriarchate and the Russian Orthodox Church in Belgrade valuable and old Russian Orthodox books: Trebnik (XVIII century), Psaltir (1746 - printed in Chernigov) and Hagiography for June, July and August (1737). On this occasion, the future cooperation between the Moscow Patriarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church in Belgrade, the Development Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Serbia and Mr. Dejan Spaić was agreed. Cooperation will primarily focus on mapping, collecting and preserving Russian cultural heritage in the Western Balkans.
